Leadership Heights is going to provide Scouts with an experience that will serve as a catalyst for future leadership growth, but it’s going to take a team to make it happen. We recently shared some specifics about what our Leadership Heights program will look like at the 2023 National Jamboree. It’s an extremely lofty vision and we know we can deliver it, but to really make the experience worthwhile for all of the Scouts at the Jamboree we need people like you to join our team!

We have a variety roles from working directly with the youth participants at the Jamboree, to serving in roles behind the scenes that allow us to deliver our program more effectively. Below you’ll see some more information about our different program areas and the corresponding roles that go along with each of them.

Leadership Heights programs:

Experiences

Our experiences team is responsible for working with our program partners and BSA programs to deliver innovative and reflective activities that will challenge scouts to step out of the comfort zone and learn how they can be a better leader and team player.

Available roles:

• Leadership Heights Experience Staff
  • Are you interested in running one of Leadership Heights exciting leadership activities? Do you want to run an escape room, navigate an obstacle course, or have fun playing leadership games? Leadership Heights Experience Staff members will be responsible for delivering high-quality experiences and activities to grow the leaders of tomorrow. Experience staff will work in the main Leadership Heights program area on Leadership Ridge working to bring scouts through the unique experiences Leadership Heights has to offer.
• Leadership Heights Facilitator
  • Every developing leader needs mentors and guides along the way and who better to guide growing leaders than the current leaders of Scouts BSA? If you have skills in facilitation, group evaluation, and guiding discussions or are interested in developing those skills, the Facilitator team is the place for you! Leadership Heights Facilitator Staff members will work with individual Leadership Heights cohorts to guide them through the experience and help them reflect and grow as a result of the Leadership Heights experience. (Scouts who have served as leaders in the NYLT, OA or Venturing programs are highly encouraged to apply for this position)
• Leadership Heights General Staff
  • Don’t know what you want to do? Don’t sweat it! Want to help in a variety of situations and put your multi-faceted skillset to work? Great! The Leadership Heights team leads are ready and eager to work with you to find the perfect fit for you on our team. We’re all growing together and we’re excited to have you on board. The Leadership Heights General staff will serve as general support staff for Leadership Heights performing logistical and administrative support work and may be assigned to specific experiences or locations as necessary. If you’re a problem solver who loves a new challenge every day, this is the team for you.

Speaker Series

The Leadership Heights Speaker Series will be an opportunity for scouts from all over the country to hear from leaders in their fields. Hearing from role models and leaders in fields the scouts might be looking to pursue can help launch their leadership journey.

  • Our Speaker Series is looking for talented individuals who enjoy interacting with people and can work to ensure things are run in a timely and efficient manner. If you have strong organizational and people skills then this is the team for you!

Elevate – an immersive experience

One of the most exciting parts of the Leadership Heights experience is Elevate a one of a kind immersive experience that will leave scouts speechless and reflecting on their own leadership style.  The experience will propel them to return home and shape their own leadership journey.

• Leadership Heights Show Production Staff
  • The Show Production Staff is responsible for behind the scenes work that makes the Leadership Heights story come alive! If you possess audio and video, stage managerial, or physical production skills the Show Production Team is the place for you.
• Leadership Heights Show Stage Talent
  • Every show needs a star, and the stars of the Leadership Heights story are the Scouts that demonstrate leadership each and every day. If you want to be on stage telling the story of transformational leadership the Stage Talent Team is the place for you. Come work with us to show each and every scout what they are capable of when they take their leadership to new heights!

Long story short, we need people like you to help make Leadership Heights at the 2023 National Jamboree happen. If you value youth leadership development and seeing transformative experiences happen right before your eyes then the Leadership Heights team is where you want to be.
